Mortgage Matters Solutions is a small firm by choice. There is no team of advisers to be passed between and no script being read to you.

Nicola Speight
Nicola has advised on mortgages and protection for over 25 years and has built the business almost entirely on referrals and clients who come back. Some of the families she looks after now are on their third or fourth mortgage with her.
Her work sits mostly with first-time buyers, people moving up the ladder, and individuals and company directors investing in property. What clients tend to mention is that she explains things properly. Mortgage paperwork is written for lenders rather than for people, and translating it is a large part of the job.
It has been a busy few years. Nicola married, moved home and relocated the office to Kings Hill, while keeping the same clients looked after throughout.

Lisa supports Nicola on administration and compliance, which in practice means she is usually the one chasing your lender, your solicitor and your surveyor.
Clients name her in their reviews as often as they name Nicola, which tells you most of what you need to know about how much of the work she quietly absorbs.

What you can expect from us
We will tell you if the answer is no
If the numbers do not work yet, you will hear what needs to change and roughly how long it might take. That is more useful than an application that gets declined and leaves a mark on your credit file.
Everything in writing before you commit
The recommendation, the reasoning, the total cost over the deal period and our fee. You should never be surprised by a number.
However you want to meet
The office is at Kings Hill and you are welcome, but a good share of our clients do everything by phone, Teams or Zoom and never come in.
We get in touch when your deal is ending
Several of the reviews on this site are from people we contacted, not the other way round. A fix running onto the standard variable rate is the easiest money a client ever loses.
Regulated advice
Who oversees our advice
We are an Appointed Representative of PRIMIS Mortgage Network, one of the largest mortgage and protection networks in the UK. Our advice is overseen by a principal firm authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and you have the protections that come with that, including access to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
We charge a fee for our advice services of between £195 and £495, depending on the complexity of the advice given. You will be invoiced on completion of your mortgage.
